Sunday Sam Snap Week 28

Week 28

We just missed him in yoga-flying pose, daydreaming with toes in both hands. This week he's been moving around faster than ever and getting quite frustrated when he can't grab something. He wants to be running!

PS, we don't know how he got the Gorbachev head. There was a little bite on there, and he might have rubbed it against the side of his Pack'n'Play. It doesn't seem to bother him.

The typhoon has passed and left some lovely cool weather! Cool enough for Hesty to crack out the long-sleeves for the boy. 

A busy weekend

We had a three-day weekend this week (Respect for the Aged Day)- and then we got sent home early for a typhoon today. So here is a blog post to procrastinate the work that I need to do.

After being able to get stuck into a whole day of jobs on Saturday and clear a lot of stress, we were able to get out and about. More importantly, we got off the island! Julie and John took us to Suma Beach for a play and a picnic at the steel drum festival.

Then there was a party in the backyard and a day of rest on Monday. A good enough weekend to get properly sunburned (Daddy) and then soaked as the next typhoon comes rolling in.

At six months and one week, Sam has decided to sit up, stand up and crawl. He's on a mission for mischief. Here's a clip of him crossing the tatami room to get to his toy.

We've had a very busy day at Suma beach and have a birthday party in the backyard starting soon. Will get up some more photos later!

Sunday Sam Snap Week 26 - Six Months Old!

Six Months!

The boy is six months old! He's becoming more stable and can sit for a couple of seconds before falling flat on his face. Here he use using the rugby ball to stay upright.

It wasn't easy to get this week's photo though. Here are a couple of outtakes:

Rugby World Cup

Being half-Irish ('bout ye?)and half-Scottish (Freedommmmmmm!), growing up in England and now living in Japan, working for Canadian Academy, I am a total fence-sitter. If only Indonesia had a world-cup-ready team - then I'd have a team to give my total support. Better get growing boys - and stop the cigarette sponsorship. I guess that's the global sports event dilemma (tri-lemma? quadra-lemma?) of a Third Culture Kid.
